Robert combines his competitive show jumping with sourcing and selling quality horses, as well as training aspiring young riders who are serious about pursuing show jumping as a career. He is based in the UK and has clients from all over the world.
Born in June 1961, Robert is originally from Yorkshire but today is based in Warwickshire. His yard has on average between 20 to 25 horses with superb facilities for schooling and training. Robert is a sought-after trainer for aspiring show jumpers and Brook Furlong Farm is now regarded as one of the elite show jumping training centres in Great Britain.
In a show jumping career that has spanned three decades, Robert is a consistent performer and has won in the region of £5 million during this time including finishing fourth in Athens Olympic Games in 2004. He topped the BSJA’s show jumping rider ranking list for three consecutive years and has represented his country in Nations Cup teams on over 100 occasions. Robert won back-to-back British Open titles in 2005 and 2006, as well as having won numerous World Cup Qualifiers, Grands Prix and Puissance competitions around the world.
Robert was invited to appear as one of three judges for the BBC’s successful ‘Only Fools on Horses’ reality programme for Sport Relief.
